SIX Receive 'Explosive' Reaction To Debut Single
March 1, 2005According to a press release, Huntington Beach, CA's SIX, featuring members of DROWN and CYPRESS HILL, have received an "explosive" reaction with their debut single, "Something's Gotta Give", as the song was added to 139 stations across the U.S. in its first week of release.
"I'm very happy and extremely proud of the reaction we're getting. Music fans have been fed this corporate version of what's cool for far too long," said SIX frontman Lauren. "Everyone is looking for some music with some heart and I think they feel that when they hear SIX. This is who we are."
A full MP3 version of "Something's Gotta Give" can be downloaded at this location.
SIX's full-length debut, "The Price of Faith", was released independently last month through the band's own 1605 label.
"We decided we weren't going to wait around and let some record company decide our fate, so we started 1605 Records and we've done everything completely independent," said Lauren."We just try to hire the right people who can get the job done. We're trying to blow this up because we're sick of most of the new music out there. But it doesn't end with SIX; we have quite a few projects we want to put out this year."
SIX are currently preparing for another full U.S. tour, with dates to be announced. In the meantime the group are performing in and around California. For tour dates or more information, check www.sixmusic.com.
